Mankranho Concession Print E-mail

The Mankranho concession lies on strike and contiguous with Newmont Mining 's largest development project in the world - The 11 million ounce Ahafo gold project. Their US$450 million processing plant was 60% completed in 2006 and production was scheduled to begin in the second half of 2006, at a rate of 500,000 ounces/year.

Mankranho shares nine common borders and surrounds the northern extension of Ahafo on three sides. Newmont made a formal request to access the Mankranho concession in June 2005 in order to complete an IP survey up to the common Mankranho/Ahafo borders.

The continuity of mineralized sections along strike and to depth is very encouraging and results support the notion of fold and fault controlled gold. Exploration work to date has indicated the presence of significant gold mineralization on the property. Area I has provided the most detailed exploration to date and mineralization is seen to occur as both wide (>10 metres) low-grade mineralized bodies and as narrow high-grade quartz veins with visible gold.

Exploration potential remains open at depth and along strike.
